Mac Allister has extended his contract with Brighton until the summer of 2027, keeping him at the club for another four years.

The midfielder had been linked with a move away from the Amex Stadium this summer, but he has decided to commit his future to the club by signing a new deal.

Allister, who has made over 150 appearances for the Seagulls since joining in 2019, will now be hoping to continue his impressive form and help the club achieve their goals next season.

Speaking about the news, Allister said: "I'm really pleased to have signed a new contract and I can't wait to get back out on the pitch and start working hard again.

"I've always wanted to play for Brighton and it's great to finally have that opportunity.

"It's going to be a tough year ahead but I'm looking forward to getting started."

Manager Graham Potter was also delighted with the news, saying: "We're all really happy for Mac and we're excited to see what he can do for us next season.

"He's a player who is always willing to work hard and improve, so we're confident that he'll be able to make a big impact for us."

Allister's decision to sign a new contract comes just days after the club announced the arrival of new manager Graham Potter.

Potter, who has previously managed clubs such as Reading and Watford, took over as Brighton's head coach earlier this month following the departure of Chris Hughton.

He has already made some changes to the squad, including the signing of Brazilian defender Diego Carlos and the loan signing of Manchester United winger James Garner.

Allister's new contract will keep him at the Amex Stadium until the summer of 2027, meaning he will be with the club for another four years.
