Strasbourg secured their second consecutive win in the Ligue 1 with a comprehensive 2-0 victory over Angers on Saturday. The home side dominated the match from start to finish, outshooting the visitors 9-4 and controlling possession throughout.
The first goal came in the 25th minute when Strasbourg's forward Diallo found himself unmarked in the penalty area and calmly tapped in his own shot past Angers goalkeeper Romain Marconnet. This was followed up just five minutes later by another impressive strike from Diallo, who once again found space in the box and slotted the ball into the net after being set up by a cross from striker Gameiro.
Gameiro continued his stellar form for Strasbourg, scoring his third goal of the season in the 67th minute. He received the ball in the box following a corner kick and pounced on it, firing a low drive into the bottom right corner of the net.
Angers had limited opportunities to扳 back the score, with their best effort coming in the 88th minute when midfielder Yannick Benoit managed to hit the post with a header. However, this was not enough to prevent Strasbourg from securing their desired result and moving up to fifth place in the table.
The win also saw Strasbourg extend their unbeaten run in Ligue 1 to eight matches, while Angers remain firmly in the relegation zone. With only one game remaining before the end of the season, both teams will be looking to secure a positive result to avoid further embarrassment.
